The Mixtt, Inc. Mission
By virtue of a group-to-group (rather than person-to-person) social network, we give people a fun, free, and easy way to meet new people in their city. Diverging from individualistic and online-centric social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, MIXTT provides a forum where people join with their friends, post and share social plans, and then sync up with other groups of friends based on common activities and interests.
Our innovative group-to-group social networking site was selected as a TechCrunch 50 company. As of our launch at the conference on September 9th, the site is live at www.MIXTT.com. You can view the demo presentation here: http://www.techcrunch50.com/2008/conference/presenter.php?presenter=62. In the works are developments for an iPhone app and a FB app; integrated mobile components and on-site capabilities.
Our team is made up of young, passionate entrepreneurs who are building a business for the target market of which we are a part. Eve Peters, CEO, began the project with Andrew Gerdes, Tech Lead, in August 2007 after a chance meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Eve, an '04 Stanford graduate, brought her conceptual and strategic visions to the table; while Andrew, a Carnegie Mellon MA (Computation & Logic) brought product development experience and technical expertise. In February 2008, MIXTT was joined by Diana Agraz, EVP and CMO. Diana, also an '04 Stanford grad, brings a wealth of marketing savvy - both from experience and her keen intuition - to the group.
Our design efforts are handled by a fantastic duo in the posh enclaves of Buenos Aires.
We are also thrilled to have our invaluable three marketing interns - Chelsea Pearl, Tedmond Lee, and Anthony Romero - all SF State students - on board.
Life at Mixtt, Inc.
We are a virtual-friendly company and spend a large part of our time working remotely from our home offices and cafes. We also have access to shared office space when needed for face-to-face meetings. We communicate our needs to each other clearly and effectively so that we can each maximize our working efficiency.
Everyone is laid-back and fun, while at the same time working with passion, ambition, and diligence.
