The OpenEntry.com Mission
To enable networks of millions of grass roots artisans and small & medium enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from the exciting opportunities opened by global e-commerce.
As an initiative of the 501(c)(3) non-profit PEOPLink.org, OpenEntry has enjoyed the flexibility to evolve through all the stages of e-commerce. However, to raise the capital necessary to scale commercially, it is now spinning off as a for-profit corporation and is seeking an initial investment of one million dollars - as presented in the business plan at http://goo.gl/CxdZv
OpenEntry is a cloud based "freemium" e-commerce platform that makes it easy for any SME anywhere to sell its products and services on an interlocking web of trusted local or global, B2B or B2C marketplaces.
OpenEntry is the only e-commerce platform offering free (forever, up to 100 products) fully functional e-commerce catalogs operating on Google cloud computing technology (Docs, Picasa, Translate, Android, and most importantly, Apps Engine). Currently 2200 SMEs in 45 countries have implemented OpenEntry catalogs.
OpenEntry also enables any high profile business network (chamber of commerce, trade promotion organization, industry association, trade show) to aggregate the catalogs of its monitored SME members into a branded "network market" generating the visibility, credibility, and trust necessary for e-commerce.
We are a small virtual team of CEO in the US, developers in Russia, and user support team of 7 in Nepal. But with funding from the Omidyar Network, we will hire a COO, CTO, and CMO plus 4 marketers in the US.
