The Pedal Power NYC Mission
Pedal Power NYC is a music and technology project made to engage the public on energy and water usage issues that affect us all. We utilize human-power to raise the volume on an all too quiet conversation and motivate people to educate themselves and take action. We strive to make art which challenges the status quo and inspires action.
Our Team
Artists, Producers, Engineers, Musicians, basically, we are blessed with all shades of creative humans occupying our permanent spaces as well as our gigs and tests.
We are encouraged by how many collaborators of ours have found creative opportunities with one another, hopefully a result of the environment we strive to foster. The multi-faceted approach we are implementing as a unit, while meshing the arts, technology, and creative reasoning, is prompting a slightly different conversation about energy policy and clean water safety in our world. So yes, Team is something we cherish, with a current crew of 5-7 and countless volunteers.
Life at Pedal Power NYC
Our workspace at The Old American Can Factory places us in the vanguard of NYC's DIY/Industrial resurgence. We take inspiration from being alongside other established artists & tech start-ups, and channel this energy into our development process, as well as our creative and arts driven advocacy. Collaborations abound, so come by and play.
From Can Factory Website:
"The Old American Can Factory is a new place in an old space, a place where things are still being made. Built as a canning factory around 1885 on the Gowanus Canal's Fifth Street Basin, it was redeveloped between 2003-2010 as an industrial haven to a curated community of more than 300 people working in the creative industries. They conceive, manufacture and distribute a myriad of ideas, experiences and products that aim to enhance the lives of others." /http://www.xoprojects.com/places_oac.html
