The Ravel Law Mission
We're building a search platform for lawyers and law students that focuses on visualization based search of legal data -- bringing much-needed innovation to the legal sector. Specifically, we’re building a website with a clean, collaborative interface that provides search and visualization of how legal data (primarily cases) rank and connect.
Our rough beta website is up at ravellaw.com. It gives you a hint at where we are headed.
Co-founders Daniel Lewis and Nik Reed graduated from Stanford Law School in 2012. They are alumni of the d.school's LaunchPad class, taught by Michael Dearing, and in May of 2012, Ravel won 2nd Place in the Stanford BASES Business Plan Competition (which included more than 150 entrants).
The Ravel team is stellar. Our engineers are BS, MS, and PhDs from Stanford, MIT, and Georgia Tech with unique expertise in visualization, UI/UX, and data.
Life at Ravel Law
Our office is beautiful with a well stocked kitchen, couches, a shower, and free food most days of the week. We're right in the heart of downtown Palo Alto. Our work culture is laid back, and although we work hard everyone gets to work on the schedule that works best for them (e.g. start at 1pm and finish when you finish). We prize getting stuff done, being able to solve hard problems, writing beautiful code, and sharing a laugh.
