The Smarterer Mission
Smarterer is a startup based in Boston, building a system to test and score people on their digital, social, and technical skills. Using crowdsourced test design and a scoring mechanism similar to the one developed to rank chess masters, in just 10 questions and 60 seconds we can give you a valid score. Smarterer's goal is to make it easy, fast, and fun for people to tell the world what they know!
We’re building a system to test and score people on their digital, social, and technical skills, empowering users by giving them an empirical measure of their skill for the purpose of strengthening their digital reputations. So… if you’re a search engine marketing person you need to know google analytics and google adwords, and webtrends and probably spyfu! And if you’re a sales person you know salesforce and chatter and vertical response and echosign. The problem is that there is no way for people to validate that they have those skills and tell the world what they know – and for companies to understand what skills are important to do a job, and who has those skills.… except that skills box on the resume that we all know is completely useless…
Our system will score people on the tools they use every day. In 10 questions in under one minute, we’ll know within 95% confidence interval how skilled you are in any digital tool or technology.

Life at Smarterer
We're looking for the smartest people we can find to help us fulfill our mission to identify and articulate anyone's skill in any digital tool or technology. The opportunity? It's that big (arms held out really really wide).
There are other great reasons to work at Smarterer: here are just a few:
- We're located in Boston's uber-cool South End. You may have to buy a whole new hipster wardrobe just to come to work, but trust us, it's worth it!
- We keep our kitchen well-stocked with drinks and snacks for everyone and have no less than 15 different kinds of coffee and tea (no kidding).
- We're within walking distance of several T stops.
- We're right across the parking lot from the world's coolest furniture store.
- There is a lot of creativity flowing around here. We share space with five other startups and actually have an Artist-in-Residence (the fabled Seth Minkin).
