The Wanelo, Inc. Mission
We want Wanelo to become the next way people shop, a social Amazon, if you will. Same as it no longer makes sense that media would talk AT us (one way communication which is representative of old media) and we prefer Facebook and Twitter where we own the content, interact and do whatever we want with it, shopping will stop being one way (stores marketing at you) and will become a truly personal and social experience. Wanelo is to shopping, what Facebook and Twitter are to content.
Life at Wanelo, Inc.
Culture doesn’t get created on paper, but here’s an early take on the culture we want to see at Wanelo:
-Everyone has autonomy and ownership of their work.
-We agree on common goals, but you are the driver.
-Everyone has enormous freedom to contribute.
-Individuals choose where, when and how work gets done, keeping the -productivity of the team in mind.
BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOALS (BHAG):
We think and do big (i.e. huge and hairy).
-We work to create (we don’t sell time for money).
-We are irreverent; we question and break rules.
-Brilliant people are always after learning. Learning is a priority in whatever form possible.
-We pursue internal questions as a team and individually.
-We pursue conferences, get information with experts, etc.
-We have healthy debates.
-We prefer direct, open communication
