The account executive position is responsible for successfully closing new clients each month by explaining the HubSpot value proposition to inbound leads and gaining commitment to buy, primarily over the phone. Target clients will largely consist of small and medium sized businesses. This position reports to the VP of Sales and is based in Cambridge, MA.
The compensation package is generous and is set up so that top performers will make top money. The company was co-founded by a career sales executive who "gets" sales people and sales compensation. As long as you are meeting quota, you can work from home a couple of days per week. There is no travel for this job, and our package consists of a competitive base, commission and draw.
The company itself is doing exceptionally well. For career-motivated people, there will be upward mobility. The company literally has more leads than it can handle right now, so there will be minimal cold calling. Our existing account executives are closing business at an extremely high rate.
Our account executives learn a tremendous amount about internet marketing - we will end up giving you a mini-MBA in internet marketing that you will be able to use the rest of your career.
2 years of sales experience with track record of over quota achievement as proven in interview process
Good sales hygiene and understanding of solution oriented selling
Experience selling a technically-oriented product to small and medium sized businesses
Knowledge of internet marketing (blogs, seo, rss, etc) is a big plus
Highly motivated and aggressive
Ability to close customers within a short sales cycle
Excellent presentation, verbal, and writing skills are required
Ability to do with right thing under stress and tight deadlines commensurate with a fast-growing start-up environment
Motivated by money, but also has the rare combination of good teamwork skills
