The West Coast Account Executive is responsible for generating a target amount of advertising and sponsorship revenue out of the West Coast territory. This person will work closely with other GOOD partnership people and the marketing organization to maximize revenue from new and existing GOOD advertising partners. This individual will build and manage an integrated sales team and cultivate long-term relationships with corporate partners.
Meet and exceed sales goals for online, email, print and events through off-the-shelf and customized advertising tools and materials; strategic development of sponsorship opportunities; and key messaging for ad trade PR
Work closely with the VP of West Coast Partnerships and the heads of each platform (website, email, print and live events) to develop and implement comprehensive sales strategy
Attend sales meetings to present/sell-in marketing proposals to agencies and clients
Engage in direct prospecting and lead generation activities
Work with corporate partnerships team to develop innovative integrated deals that extend across all platforms
Work with the account management team to plan and manage campaigns, ensuring that advertiser expectations are met
Develop ways to bridge GOOD’s editorial interests and the interests of our corporate partners
Participate in internal brainstorm sessions to develop marketing concepts and customized added value components in response to RFPs
Manage a sales funnel and report progress, efforts, and developments on the West Coast
Develop strategic relationships to position GOOD as a leader in advancing entertainingly relevant content that will allow brands to reach an influential, affluent, and socially-conscious audience
2 – 3 years experience in media sales
Proven history of closing deals and meeting sales targets
Management experience preferred
Knowledge of media reporting and analysis services and tools (MRI, comScore, @Plan, GOOG Analytics, etc.)
Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
In-depth knowledge of latest trends in media
Strong relationships with marketers and ad agency personnel: account directors, media planners and buyers, interactive marketers of all levels
