Account Specialist, Strategic Accounts

*This is a temporary position that will be either based in Brooklyn, NY or Alpharetta, GA

The Account Specialist, Strategic Accounts (AS) will maintain a solid understanding of the sales dynamics within the assigned territory and will be responsible for helping Strategic Sales Representatives achieve sales goals. The AS will aid Sales Representatives by implementing agreed upon marketing activities and conducting sales support activities from lead generation through close. Additionally, the AS will work to ensure that the renewal sales within the assigned territory are successfully closed by communicating with key contacts and/or accounts on a consistent basis. The AS is responsible for following-up with customers to renew license subscriptions using a proactive sales-focused and consultative approach. The AS must meet specific/pre-determined targets to ensure goals are met.

Responsibilities of the Account Specialist:

Monitor assigned accounts from Purchase Order to Renewal using Sales Force/ spreadsheets, tracking customer renewal status and communicating with the customer through all points of the renewal process
Use predetermined guidelines to help define opportunities and work with Strategic Field Sales Representative to employ effective campaigns
Arrange presentation materials, cost proposals and follow-up collateral as needed
Improve customer contact database in assigned territory
Register Strategic Field Sales Representatives for regional conferences and plan logistics
Prepare reports as needed and document all activities in

Basic Requirements of the Account Specialist:

Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of work experience in a fast paced corporate environment is a plus
Proven experience based knowledge of challenges teaching / working within K-12 environment is a plus
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Preferred Requirements of the Account Specialist:

Professional and polished verbal and written communication skills are essential
Previous experience with is a plus
Highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, superb organizational skills and immaculate attention to detail
