Chefday, Inc. is well-funded startup based in Brooklyn that makes cooking much more fun and simple. We deliver all the pre-measured ingredients needed to cook great recipes designed by the finest chefs. Each recipe comes with a video of the chef explaining to you how to cook the recipe step-by-step.

We're a bunch of 20 and 30-somethings committed to designing a much better cooking experience and we won’t settle before making that happen. We do everything in-house: software, content & media, and logistics. Some people think it’s too much for a small company. We believe that it’s the only way to improve things.

Chefday is seeking a passionate, curious, creative, and fast-learning visual designer to join our team. We believe we're fundamentally changing the way people experience food and cooking and we want someone who's dying to play a huge role in designing and defining those new experiences.

This person will be the lead visual designer and will define the overall brand across many channels:

- website & mobile: you’ll be working with our Product team to design the UI look & feel
- videos & photos: you’ll be working with our Production team to make beautiful content
- print & packaging: you’ll be working with our Operations team to craft products enjoyed by thousands of customers

You never make a design decision without considering the impact on the overall experience. You're comfortable quickly iterating your way to a final, well-thought out design solution. You know how to articulate the rationale behind every design decision you make. Above all, you’re a super fast learner and you love taking up new challenges. We want you to grow with the company.

There's a lot to get done and the right candidate will be invigorated by the chance to work closely across disciplines within the company in order to achieve those goals - we're especially looking for a candidate who approaches Design with a very strong sense of the overall user experience.

We work as a tight cross-disciplinary team here so you need feel comfortable working closely with Production and Operations as well as your fellow Product team members.
Understand the Chefday brand and have your design always reflect that understanding
Help establish and reinforce consistent visual design patterns across channels
Be able to easily pivot between high level product discussions and the low level implications of those discussions
Know how to ask the right questions
1-3 years being an art director / visual designer (and a portfolio that reflects it)
A portfolio that includes self-started personal projects for which you had total creative control. It could be an website or a photo blog but it should be something where you were able to realize your vision.
