Social and mobile gaming studio Ruby Seven Studios is looking for a talented Art Director to rock our San Francisco, CA office. Manage, mentor and motivate art design teams in creation of top quality web and mobile games
Report on implementation and priority of design roadmap to teams
Ensure consistency of design and brand in all products
Ensure top design and art quality in all products, and provide critique when necessary
Take ownership of daily art team management - assign priorities, organize teams for new projects, schedule milestones, optimize processes, etc.
Manage creation of art for new features, promotions, in-game assets/pop-ups, icons, logos, typography, etc.
Effectively develop timelines and priority levels for new and current art projects
Coordinate with Design and Technical teams for implementation of art assets
Work with design team to create new game concepts and improve existing games
Educate teams on new industry design and technical trends
Work with executive team to staff new artists as needed
Build new systems for streamlining of art production and studio improvement
Update and ensure adherence to style guides
Position: full-time, San Francisco, CA
Experience managing, mentoring, motivating, and coaching design teams
Experience working with outsourced teams a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to develop and execute on timelines
Experience as Art Lead/Art Director
Design portfolio demonstrating extensive experience in game design, UI development, concept creation, composition, typography, etc.
In depth knowledge of game design (animation, concepts, trends, texturing, modeling, etc.)
Ability to lead and provide constructive criticism effectively
Insatiable passion for current trends in games and design
Digital drawing or illustration skills a plus
UI/graphic/web design experience
Design experience in social/mobile gaming industry a plus
Passion for creating fun, captivating user experiences
Ability for fast iteration in demanding environment
Passion for games on any platform (Console, PC, Mobile)
Degree in interaction design/industrial design/graphic design/UI design, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
