Article Writer for

at Nerdy With Children in New York, NY   —   Apr 08, 2014   |
We need genuine nerdy/geeky authorities to write articles pertaining to nerdy parents. Since we're small, we aren't able to devote significant resources to editing each article for proper grammar, spelling, etc., so we're looking for content that will be print ready.

We're looking for articles that are more than just bland pop culture references and a re-hashing of ideas that are already out there. What we need are people who fit in one of the following categories; artsy, punk/goth/metal, science/math obsessed, video game addicted, or know everything about science fiction or fantasy.

Example: Everyone has seen Star Wars, however you own a copy of the holiday special and view it every Life Day.
Work with our editor on article ideas
Research article topic for necessary material
Prepare 500-1,000 word articles on approved topics that contain expert knowledge of the subject and references that would impress even Chris Hardwick.
Writing experience with samples you can submit to us
Be prepared to be quizzed on your nerdiness.
Writing for online properties
Self editing ability
Strong grammar, spelling, punctuation. If you submit something that uses you're/your or than/then incorrectly, it isn't going to work out between us.
You don't need to be a parent, but you must have been a child at some point in your life.
Experience with Google Docs encouraged, but not necessary.
Whatever, just be able to write.
We're small so at the moment we're targeting $5 per 500-1,000 word article, but we are willing to discuss the options here for the right candidates.

If you live in NYC, we can take you out for coffee and beers on occasion.
