Big Data Engineer

at Beanstock Media in San Francisco, CA   —   Jul 14, 2014   |
How would you like to put your love of data, insights, and scale all to use all at once!? We're looking for new members of our data infrastructure development team to help wire our data sources to MongoDB, Neo4J and Hadoop.
We'd love it if you have experience with Neo4J and/or with rsyslog... but most importantly, we want you to salivate at the mention of 'big data' and we want you to jump up and down with excitement at the thought of being a part of the initial team to design and build the data systems behind our international platform!
Lots of years experience with working with a modern BI stack, web logs, Hadoop/Neo4J/MongoDB!
Experience dealing with scale... a lot of data, a lot of users, a lot of teammates, a lot of fun!
You've gotta be flexible! You want to be flexible! You love being flexible! We've got so many problems to solve!
And of course, you have to want to be a part of Beanstock Media!
5+ years of *nix experience
5+ years of various database experiences... Oracle/MySQL/Hadoop/etc ...
5+ years of experience with C/C++/Java/Python
5+ years scripting experience with Python or Perl, for example
Standard data warehousing approaches would be nice to know... star schema anyone?
Good understanding of the Digital Media landscape- if you know what LUMA slides are and who the players in them represent, we want to talk to you
Familiarity with Agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies a huge plus
B.S. or higher in Computer science or equivalent
To be Negotiated
