Business Development Associate-Talent Management

Next Street, a merchant bank based in Hibernian Hall in Roxbury, is looking to add an experienced Business Development Associate to its team of advisory and financial services professionals. Next Street provides management advice along with flexible debt and equity finance to small and medium size businesses in inner cities across the country with offices in Boston and New York City.

Position Summary:

Next Street is in search of a Business Development Associate who has significant experience in identifying new business opportunities for Organizational Development and Recruiting services for Next Street’s Talent Management Practice. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate Next Street’s integrated value proposition to current and potential clients. The Business Development Associate will leverage and partner with the Practice Leader and others on the Talent Management team to bring the deals to closure and deliver high quality Organizational Development and Recruiting Services.
Meet or exceed Talent business development goals and objectives for Organizational Development and Recruiting
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the client’s business, markets, products and business plans – issues that may position sales opportunities
Secure and increase new business by developing a new client base
Develop, maintain and track the sales pipeline to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue objectives
Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings and industry events
Partner with organizations that will promote the company and generate leads
BA/BS required with 3 to 5 years of experience in new business development utilizing a consultative sales approach
Proven track record of successfully selling Human Resources related products and services, specifically Organizational Development and Recruitment
Basic understanding of HR practices and principles, applicable employment, labor, wage laws and EEO and ADA regulations as well as knowledge of employment policies and procedures
Proven track record for increasing business and revenue through consultative/solution selling approach with a focus on client expectations while executing sales plans
The ability to relate to entrepreneurs in our target market. Experience in the small business market is a plus, but not required
Ability to translate client needs into an actionable response.
Work effectively across company practice units to build insightful and strategic solutions for our clients, while ensuring, a high level of quality and profitability
Must have superior written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding presentation development and delivery skills
Success with working with clients at the senior and executive levels
Able to handle difficult situations with ease and professionalism
Ability to design a strategy for accomplishing goals
Must be able to take initiative, be a self-starter, have integrity, have an optimistic attitude and significant drive and enthusiasm
Able to speak multiple languages, a plus
