About the position:
The Business Development Associate is responsible for expanding our partner networks and will work closely with and report to the Managing Director and/or Executive Director. We are interested in meeting candidates demonstrating strong marketing experience and sales skills, effective management and follow through skills and demonstrated experience addressing environmental and/or sustainability issues. It is preferred that the candidate has his/her own laptop and communications tools.
This is a volunteer position, which offers qualified candidates the opportunity to gather experience and to prove their capabilities in a non-profit organization environment engaging with Bay Area companies of all sizes in the field of sustainability. The ideal candidate should commit a minimum of 10-20 hours per week working at the SSV Santa Clara office location.

Developing and implementing an effective strategic marketing plan
Networking and follow-through to establish new partnering and business relationships
Overseeing and improving business development processes workflow, tools and performance reporting
Managing the development of successful proposals
Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of partner, staff and agency information.
Experienced with CRM software. Experience with WordPress would be a plus
Minimum 3 years to 5 years' Business Development experience (ideally with at least 1 year in Cleantech)
Ability to collaborate in a team setting and contribute to team goals.
Self-directed with strong time management, planning and organization skills
Good communication skills in interaction with partners, colleagues and visitors.
Effective analytic and follow-though skills to manage processes and individuals to achieve results
Impeccable attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy of financial and other information
Flexible and able to maintain equilibrium while managing competing deadlines and priorities
Resourceful and able to find creative solutions, thinking beyond current systems and approaches toward continual improvement
Technically savvy and adept at learning new software programs
Proficient with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
