Speek (www.speek.com / developer.speek.com) is seeking a Business Development guru to join our team.
Speek was founded in 2006 and post-revenue / profitable.
Speek has 2 founders, both of which have several successful exits under their belts in the software / web space.
If things work out we hope this person becomes a 3rd partner in the company.
We want someone who will be as passionate as we are about Speek to "own" new sales / partnerships of our API! This includes bringing in new customers who implement our API and pay us on a per minute basis, finding partners to include our widget/gadget in their apps or to do tighter integration within their apps, as well as coming up with brand new creative ways to generate revenue using our technology.
Start date is immediately.
You will be responsible for "owning" all aspects of successfully bringing our new API/Developer's network to market. You will also be solely responsible for generating sales both through the web ("hands-off") and through more ambitious and strategic ("hands-on") targets.

The ideal candidate lives in Silicon Valley or Bay Area but we are flexible.
Sell our API to new customers
Create partnerships with other SaaS / Web Products
Build a "self-service" component to our API
Generate revenue and in new ways
Track record of sales / biz dev success
Self-starter with the ability to be creative and self-sufficient
Demonstrated success personally closing high-visibility partnerships and deals
Demonstrated success conceiving and executing sales/marketing strategy for direct to developer sales (i.e. Online Ad Campaigns, etc to close visitors directly from the web).
Knowledgeable about Mashery or competing offerings
Experienced with SaaS and Web 2.0/Web 3.0
Knowledgeable about RESTful API's (like Twitter's)
Success in selling a RESTful based API to developers and business stakeholders alike
