Business Development Manager

Overview
NuVal LLC is a rapidly expanding start-up company formed in 2008 to bring the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System to market. It is the joint venture of Topco Associates, LLC, and Griffin Hospital, a non-profit community hospital affiliated with Yale University.

The NuVal Nutritional Scoring System makes good nutrition easy by providing comprehensive nutritional information in a single number from 1 to 100; the higher the score, the higher the nutrition. We are bringing food scores to market to help consumers make better food choices and positively affect health outcomes. We are focused on reaching consumers via retail outlets, online portals, integrated health and wellness programs, and community organizations, and continue to explore additional market opportunities.

NuVal is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to join the organization as a Business Development Manager, reporting to the VP of Business Development. This position works closely with the executive team to drive and support strategic business development and product development for profitable revenue generation and new partner acquisition and management.
Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities by analyzing markets, trends and key participants
Research companies that fit with growth priorities, prioritize targets, and develop and maintain contact with target companies
Create sales presentations and participate in sales meetings and site visits
Assess partner/client needs, including business strategy, nutrition goals, and program objectives
Develop partner strategies, including solution development and pricing model recommendations
Collaborate with internal and external teams such as marketing, communications and scoring to drive product development to meet partner needs
Track and report the status and success of all business development deals and prospects
Maintain a strong understanding of NuVal’s offerings including features and benefits, market position, competitive products, marketing activities, pricing, etc.
Conduct ongoing analysis of target markets, our business and our competitors
Participate in/lead special initiatives
Experience
MBA with 1-2 years of relevant experience or undergraduate degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience
Ability to assess market landscape, identify opportunities, develop strategies, identify and mobilize resources and execute
Demonstrated analytical ability in solving tough business problems with limited resources
Demonstrated ability to excel in unstructured environments
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well with multiple parties across functional areas and at all levels
Ability to prepare and deliver concise and impactful presentations to support business strategies
Highly motivated, results-oriented and a self starter
Strong time management and project management skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess a high degree of flexibility and work well with others in a team capacity
Education
•MBA with 1-2 years of relevant experience or undergraduate degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience
