We seek talented and motivated executives eager to help our portfolio of startup companies and guide them in their early formation and growth phase. Many of these roles will be at the C level and may include co-founder opportunities.
Work with CEO and other senior management members to set short and long term strategic sales objectives to achieve all financial and non-financial goals of the company.
Lead and direct the flow of new client acquisition from initial identification to closing of customer.
Lead and direct the customer experience and customer satisfaction to ensure highest retention percentages.
Oversee the RFI/RFP response process to ensure consistent deal flow at attractive margins to company.
Ensure all business development resources of company are optimized to position company brand differentiation as “best in class.”
Maintains and keeps up-to-date metrics on clients of company to spot buying trends.
Looks to understand market dynamics and future buying behaviors to help set direction for new company offerings and speed to market solutions.
Has experience and high comfort level in traditional marketing areas like brand strategy and positioning, creative and copywriting, advertising, public relations, sales collateral, packaging, market research, customer satisfaction / customer experience, data warehouse mining analytics
Have knowledge / experience in social media strategies to advance sales messaging.
Establishes department’s goals, budgets and capital expenditures to support company vision and mission.
Responsible for all department talent acquisition, as well as management, training and retention of staff.
Chief department liaison with other company functions (Operations, Finance, HR, Legal).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles in Business Development and Sales
Demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
Prior experience working in a P&L environment
Prior experience in the creation of a sales department
Demonstrated past experience taking a conceptualized vision/goal and bringing it to reality
Creative innovator with entrepreneurial spirit
Demonstrated past experience hiring, growing and managing a sales staff with a minimum of 10 employees.
Extensive professional network within the Sales /Business Development/ Marketing community
NICE TO HAVES:
Experience and/or relationships in the VC, Angel, or private equity markets
Prior entrepreneurial experience as co-founder or employee
Prior experience working for sweat equity
EDUCATIONAL/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor’s degree, MBA a strong plus
•Professional selling certifications a strong plus
•Mastery of multiple languages a strong plus
