Merchant Exchange is a New York-based startup that is redefining the meaning of loyalty and developing the first truly global consumer identity. We build and manage loyalty programs for the world’s best merchants, giving users a personal gateway to the brands they love – and those brands a revolutionary way to communicate with their best customers.
We’re seeking one very smart, motivated intern to work with our Marketing and Business Development team. You’ll help build and maintain merchant relationships and strategic partnerships, devise and execute customer acquisition plans uniquely tailored to each client, and assist in crafting and executing our consumer marketing efforts. There will also be many chances to hone your chops in product development and operations, drawing on the expertise you gain from user behavior to help craft strategic goals. Basically we’re looking for a jack-of-all-trades with serious people skills and a love of problem solving.
Responsibilities
Helping to maintain relationships with existing merchant partners
Assisting with crafting pitch decks and materials
Executing customer acquisition initiatives and building channel partnerships
Supporting day-to-day operations, from populating our site with content to monitoring site usage
Ad-hoc research and analysis to answer specific questions
Generating creative ideas for new strategies, products, and features
Testing/quality assurance for new features on our website
Experience
This is an internship, so prior experience is less important than an ability to learn quickly and execute flawlessly, whatever the task may be.
Skills
Track record of academic success across disciplines.
Being an entrepreneurial risk-taker is absolutely essential. If you are not a self-starter, you will not do well here.
Must thrive in fast-paced, open-ended startup environments.
Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills. You love to sell.
Outstanding analytical abilities.
Strong understanding of web services and platforms.

Education
Current undergraduate or graduate student at a top university (or recent alum)
