Work with CEO to set short and long term strategic objectives to achieve all financial and non-financial goals of the company.
Participates in strategic planning process as integral member of senior management team.
Has primary responsibility to set financial department strategy in alignment with company’s strategic plan.
Establishes department’s goals, budgets and capital expenditures to support company vision and mission.
Ensures financial team maintains financial records systems in accordance with appropriate standards (GAAP / IFRS)
Identifies, proposes and pursues financial opportunities that place company in best financial position.
Has primary responsibility for the identification, acquisition and retention of talent that ensures department retains its ability to meet its obligations to both external and internal customers of the department.
Chief spokesperson with those external to company (government, media, investors, vendors) on all matters related to company’s financial position and performance.

10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles in finance and accounting
Prior experience working in a P&L environment
Prior management experience working in a Big 4 public accounting firm.
Prior experience in the creation of a finance department or taking a company from being private to an IPO.
Demonstrated past experience taking a conceptualized vision/goal and bringing it to reality
Demonstrated past experience hiring, growing and managing a finance function with a minimum of 10 employees.
Extensive professional network within the finance / accounting community.
Experience and/or relationships in the VC, Angel, or private equity markets
Prior entrepreneurial experience as co-founder or employee
Prior experience working for sweat equity
