Adoptive is seeking a creative and passionate strategist with a strong content / editorial background to join our highly collaborative team. The ideal candidate will be capable of designing customized content strategies and creating a plan for their implementation across all platforms — print, web, mobile and social — for clients across industries.

The candidate will need to understand and lead the planning, research, development, creation, optimization and metrics analysis of all content for all clients. He or she should be familiar with, and actively following, trends in digital content and should be comfortable applying those trends for Adoptive’s clients. Experience with, and strong opinions on, social media are a prerequisite.

A small and growing company, all Adoptive team members are expected to be ‘hands on’. The content-focused strategist should be comfortable with proofreading and editorial responsibilities, as well as original content generation.

This role is dynamic and requires experience not only as a strategist, but also as a content creator, editor and marketer. We are looking for candidates with strong opinions, open minds and endless curiosity. Supported by other members of the strategy team, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop a growing and increasingly important segment of Adoptive’s services.

This position reports to the Strategy Director and is a 6 month contract position with the opportunity to transition into full time.
Create research methodologies intended to unearth insights into client content needs and, in turn, inform content creation strategy
Design bespoke, scalable content strategies for Adoptive clients that are on-brand
Define publication schedules across all platforms
Identify appropriate metrics for measuring success of content on all platforms
Implement content creation and publication strategy with Adoptive clients either as a component of a larger brand rollout or in isolation
Learn and improve Adoptive’s approach to strategy, design and technology
Bachelor’s degree; masters degree preferred
5+ years developing content across multiple platforms, preferably in digital content publishing
Exceptional content creation skills – writing, editing, copy editing
Practical experience applying SEO best practice techniques to content and copy
Strategic and tactical thinker who can complement ‘big picture thinking’ with practical implementation
Proactive work ethic; strong people skills; positive attitude
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Strong communication skills across internal and external teams
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as a team and meet deadlines
Desire to learn, grow and adapt with a start-up
Bachelor’s degree; masters degree preferred
