Work with CEO to set short and long term strategic objectives to achieve all financial and non-financial goals of the company.
Has primary responsibility to set information technology strategy in alignment with company’s strategic plan.
Establishes department’s goals, budgets and capital expenditures to support company vision and mission.
Keeps abreast of new technology advancements, planning for future upgrades or switches to new technologies based on organizational changes or changes to strategic plan of company
Knowledgeable of all governmental laws affecting selection and use of IT systems in keeping company compliant.
Responsible for all IT talent acquisition, as well as management, training and retention of staff.
Chief department liaison for other company functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR) to ensure that their requirements are being met and that they are in compliance with IT policy and procedures.
Chief spokesperson with those external to company (government, media, investors, vendors) on all matters related to company’s choice and use of technology platforms.
10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles in information technology
Prior experience working in a P&L environment
Prior experience in the creation of an information technology department or the transformation of a department to a new technology platform
Demonstrated past experience taking a conceptualized vision/goal and bringing it to reality
Demonstrated past experience hiring, growing and managing an IT function with a minimum of 10 employees.
Extensive professional network within the IT community
Experience and/or relationships in the VC, Angel, or private equity markets
Prior entrepreneurial experience as co-founder or employee
Prior experience working for sweat equity
Bachelor’s degree, MBA a strong plus
Professional information technology certifications a strong plus
Mastery of multiple languages a strong plus
