We were recently accepted into Tech Wildcatters, one of the top 10 accelerator programs in the country, we are likely to raise VC Capital, thus you must be willing to work in this type of fast paced environment.
The Chief Technology Officer’s role is to assure the successful execution of the company’s vision & mission through development and deployment of the company’s web and mobile technologies. This is critical company role and will be given substantial (equity) in the company. This role requires envisioning the company’s service offerings as a web-based business and mobile app, leading implementation of web applications, back-end development and planning for risk, security, and platform scale-ability. The ideal candidate will be both strategic thinker and technical, a strong background in web-development. Must be comfortable working in start-up environment, efficient, nimble, results oriented, and expert in open source development.
Currently we have a back-end developer (Sr. Web Architect) and front-end guy (Web Designer). Initially your role will be to help code part-time (X hours per week) and start to structure our platform and team for growth. The goal will be to get our company to a point of traction (users) and raise substantial capital so we can afford to hire you full-time. After that, your role will be to lead the entire technical innovation of the company.
Work closely with company’s founders, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.
Identify technology trends and evolving social behavior that may support or impede the success of the business, lead social innovation.
Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the company’s web-based products.
Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.
As CoFounder, lead the team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization’s resources are used responsibly, particularly in the areas of software development, office tools, and telecommunication.
Lead the development of the companies confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and servers.
Ability to embrace "Lean Startup" methodology and incorporate engineering process in our platform development.
Communicate the company’s technology strategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customers, PR outlets, and stakeholders, act as the "Tech Evangelist".

Expert in Agile Development & Lean Startup Principles (Be big on A/B testing and being lean)
The CTO will be expected to actively code, have an intimate understanding of our core product
You should be familiar with: Shell scripting, Sftp/FTP, PHP Frameworks (Zend, Code Ignitor, Symfony, etc).
Experience working with MVC & OOP.
Has contributed to one or more open source projects, an advocate
As a developer we need our coder who can rinse and reuse code, not code a line at a time a
Degree in Computer Science but it's okay if you didn't go to school to learn how to code
