The Chief Technology Officer will provide the company's technology vision and leadership and be recognized externally as the key technical voice of the company. The CTO will assist with News Makeup's current satire news site and assist in building the foundation for Nailedit, our job application. This individual will lead the engineering team in the design and development of its job site product. This executive will be responsible for all aspects of COMPANY's technical product strategy and product development efforts, and lead the company's efforts in creating highly innovative and groundbreaking products.

Lead architecture of the whole site. Manage a team with our web designer and graphic designer.
Must have startup experience (actually have worked for a startup and not just consulting)
Minimum 3 years project planning experience.
Must have experience seeing several projects run from concept to execution.
Must be willing to work for equity, and receive a % of the seed money raised
5+ years of experience with web standards based development
Programming skills: hands-on Ruby/Rails experience is what we are looking for. We would also consider individuals with broad experience with one or more other high-level programming languages. You should have a broad knowledge of programming concepts (classes, inheritance, coding practices, etc) and be capable of producing high-quality functional, maintainable and logical code.
Application stack: You should be comfortable in a command-line Linux/*NIX environment and understand development processes (e.g. SVN/source control, IDEs, etc). Decent SQL and grasp of databases is a help, especially when this impacts on scalability.
Experience with web hosting and configuration.
Ability to work in a small team environment that includes both technical and non-technical members.
You should have a good understanding and appreciation of the user experience.
