CTO/VP Engineering

Overview
PawLinks, LLC, a New York City based startup focusing on the pet industry, is looking for a strong developer/engineer and technology leader to join the team as CTO/VP Engineering. Reporting to the CEO, this position will be responsible for all aspects of product development. We are both a consumer facing site and a SaaS platform for the pet industry.

We have a working beta with live customers and a feature rich product roadmap. This role will be taking over for an outside consultant, so will need to be well versed in RoR, Linux, MySql, AWS and able to work quickly to get up to speed and take ownership of the existing codebase and site architecture. Must be able to support both the front and back-end while we grow the team.

We are a pre-revenue, pre-funding company.
Responsibilities
Define and architect the product development process, technology solutions, and implementation path
Must be a hands on developer as well as a technology leader who can eventually build and lead the Engineering/IT group
Identify technology resource needs and hire/contract resources accordingly
maintain code base
Oversee crm analytics, bus logic, data mgmt, etc.
Experience
Startup experience preferred
Lead Developer or VP Engineering experience
Web 2.0 technologies
Agile Development
Skills
2+ years Ruby on Rails experience
experience with AWS
XHTML/CSS Javascript (using jQuery)
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Compensation
Compensation will be an early stake equity position.
