Responsibilities
We are looking for a CTO/VP of Engineering with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, who is motivated by the company’s vision, the opportunity to get in as an early employee on a very large opportunity and an executive team who can lead the company to success. The alpha version of the iPhone application has already been built by an outsourced developer team. You will be in charge of all ongoing development of the mobile apps, website, database architecture, hosting, etc.
Technology leadership for mobile applications, web applications and a back-end platform, including data center hosting and data analytics services.
Manage and lead the technology team, whether in-house and/or outsourced.
Evaluate technologies, select platforms and technical design appropriate for each stage of company growth.
Provide hands-on coding and QA testing, as needed.
Manage day-to-day technology operations of live environments.
Evangelize technologies with third parties (investors, customers, and partners
Experience
Leading development.
Building startups, including recruiting technology talent, managing small technology teams and mentoring skills.
Deep understanding of security and privacy protection.
Data-driven decision making, data modeling and data analytics expertise.
Good working knowledge of product development methodologies, including systematic system and testing documentation at various levels.
Building highly scalable, available, reliable and high performance online services, platforms and open APIs.
Developing and managing technology budgets.
Consumer-based Internet and mobile technologies.
Hands-on programming and knowledge in the typical technology required for mobile applications (IOS/XCode, HTML5, Javascript), web applications and database development (relational and nonsql databases, Amazon S3 integration etc).
Passion for product quality and attention to details.
Proficiency with social media and mapping API’s a plus
BA/BS in a computer science or related discipline.
