Envarix Systems has two ventures in B2C/B2B online financial services. The first one is about patented analysis and optimization of investment portfolios, incl. actively-managed mutual funds. The second one is about providing high-quality financial data on publicly traded securities.
Development of websites for the ventures have been outsourced and one is already in public beta. Both ventures use a subscription-based SaaS model (no ads, no freemium). We have conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis and developed an extensive financial pro-forma model.
We are now looking for an experienced CTO / VP of Engineering co-founder to help us roll out production websites, as well as dedicated XML web services. We would strongly prefer someone who is in a position to work full-time on the ventures and is based in the Washington, DC metro area.
NOTE: We are not working with agencies -- principals only, please. This is not a consulting, advisory, or part-time opportunity. Applicants should be eligible to work for any employer in the US without restrictions; we cannot provide visa sponsorship. No relocation assistance is available.
Learn and enhance the core software engines for both ventures. This is a hands-on position that requires writing some code, not just high-level technology and team management. Training on the existing multiple-application code base will be provided.
Maintain reliable website operation on a 24/7 basis with frequent and timely content updates.
Manage projects and programs with offshore and local resources.
Support inbound marketing initiatives.
Contribute to the company's strategy, IP and fundraising efforts.
Frequently interact with customers and promote the ventures at online and physical venues.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in web and application software development, as well as technical and project management.
Experience in quantitative finance and financial software development is a plus.
Exposure to rapid processing of significant amounts of numerical data is highly desirable.
Tenure at startups, preferably successful ones.
At least a few of: Microsoft .NET (C#, Visual Basic), C++, CUDA, Java, SQL Server, LAMP, XML, QuantLib, Matlab, R, AWS, Office/VBA.
Proficiency in modern scalable web technologies, distributed computing, effective data presentation and SaaS.
Basic understanding of investments, financial models and statistics, or a strong desire to get educated and ability to quickly come up to speed on new concepts.
Ability to effectively work with offshore teams in different cultures and time zones.
Capacity to put in the effort required at an early-stage startup.
BSCS or BSEE minimum, advanced degree desirable. Ivy League grads welcome (founders are Wharton School MBAs).
Co-founder's equity; salary after sufficient external funding is secured and cash flow attained.
