Co-Founder / CTO / Lead Developer / Head of Tech-wizardry

Overview
We're looking for a rockstar CTO / co-founder.

Great Little Place is a year and a half old, and we've been lucky to make some great friends online. We have 94k Facebook fans in London, 250k all over the world and 25k newsletter subscribers - and growing fast. We've also picked up a couple of awards along the way - at the O2 Smarta 100 Awards and with Shell Livewire - and had our new site crowd funded to the tune of £10k by our fantastic fans.

Responsibilities
You will be the technical top bod – the lead developer and technical decision maker within the team – though always with the team.
Leading the build, primarily the back-end web service creation, of our stunning new site designed by one of the world's top designers, and forthcoming apps.
You will help guide the overall direction of the product and so must be strategically sharp and passionate about real utility.
You will help us plot out the future – how to make the very best service we can.
Staying abreast of technical trends that will inform and affect the business.
Establish e-mail newsletter service.
Help in selection and management of any technical outsourcing requirements.
Optimise for search. In future lead the recruitment of further technical employees.
Monitor analytics and lead improvements where necessary.
Ensure safety of data throughout the product.
Roll up sleeves and get involved.
Experience
You're fascinated by business models and the possibilities the digital world brings with it.
Always up for learning new skills and cracking problems. We will find a way or we will make a way.
Experienced in SEO, social media and digital marketing. Ideally some experience with tech startups too, but not essential.
Skills
Loves what we’re trying to do and wants to join us on a mission against what we don't do.
Experienced and passionate about developing sites both front end and back end. Hands-on experience coding in more than one currently popular web application framework.
Knows an open source CMS inside out, ideally Drupal, Joomla or Code Ignite (I.e. Expression Engine).
Fluent in HTML5, CSS, web standards keano and you’re a LAMP native
Able to lead app development, ideally across iPhone and Android.
Geo-location is right up your street.
Ideally you know some Photoshop and Illustrator and are fixated with, and experienced in, great design. You really care, and understand, about user experience.
Excellent written and communication skills and attention to detail
You don't mind having a bit of fun along the way.
Education
We're open to all types of different backgrounds, providing tech competence is assured.
Compensation
Significant equity, with all the opportunities a fast-growing start-up offers. Part time to start with but equity and huge opportunity once the new site is delivered to market.
