We do not believe in hiring based on degrees. However, we do require candidates to be passionate about making a positive impact to those in under-served areas of the world, and the environment.
Two types of people will be considered for this position.
1) The scrappy web developer/designer. Willing and able to do the work, perhaps needing to learn as they go in a few areas. Maybe you want to work at Facebook, or the next hot thing in a year or so. If you have the drive, this could be the opportunity for you.
2) The established professional with their BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent and 5+ years of verifiable experience. If this is you, within a very short time you'll be able to satisfy the needs of this position in a few hours a week. Pending success, there would be no reason not to offer competitive employment to retain your talent and reward your contributions going forward. Giveframe could make for a segue into the non-profit, social media or e-commerce field.
This would be a non-paid position until we receive operational funding. At the moment we're boot strapping.
Clearly, this being the case we are not expecting 40 hour weeks out of the candidate who will fill this position. Or even 20 hour weeks. The bottom line is it is a start-up environment. The office is wherever you are. If you don't know how to do something, you need to have the willingness and ability to learn and apply what's needed to complete the task.
Treat us fairly and honestly and we'll do the same once we're off the ground.
