Outside.in is the leading provider of hyperlocal news and information. We show consumers neighborhood news and information from local bloggers and mainstream media on hundreds of trusted news sites across the Outside.in Network as well as www.outside.in.
Role
Are you a current college student trying to break into the world of internet startups? Our internship program gives students real world experience and exposure to a fast growing Silicon Alley company.
We're looking for a Community Manager Intern to assist our Community Manager. The ideal candidate is a current journalism or media studies student with a passion for social media as well as all things hyperlocal.
As an intern at Outside.in, you will work with your manager on division-specific tasks as well as have the opportunity to learn from upper level management across the company. In addition, Outside.in interns have the opportunity to pursue projects of individual interest that they plan and execute together with help and insight from our team.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Monitoring and analyzing key social media metrics and maintaining related reports and spreadsheets
Assisting in maintaining Outside.in's presence across various social media platforms
Planning and producing content (esp. multimedia) for Outside.in's blog
Special projects TBD
Skills
Skills/Interests
Journalism and/or media (internships OK)
Demonstrated passion for social media
Familiarity with the blogosphere
A positive attitude and a genuine love for customer service
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, social media tools
Multimedia production skills and/or graphic design skills a plus
Compensation
Outside.in internships are unpaid, academic credit is available
