Computer Savvy Linguist/Literature/English summer intern

Textnomics, Inc. is building the most comprehensive tool set for the massive job market space on the planet. We are a vertical text mining, natural language processing and machine learning company based in Silicon Valley, and we're hiring. Our first product is unique in being a consumer facing web-based product that helps candidates secure the specific positions that they are applying to.

Our team consists of former NASA and European Scientists, entrepreneurs and senior executives, working on an IP rich product. We are currently in our closed beta testing phase and we are constantly developing new opportunities.
We are looking for a computer savvy Linguist or English or Literature summer intern. The intern will review and correct user and computer generated data, and uses an automated system to record errors. Merging of the meaningful text, phrase analysis, and help in algorithmic development with the team is part of this exciting opportunity.
Previous experience with content analysis
Strong knowledge of English and linguistic equivalences and the use of online resources/thesaurus
Creative problem solving
Familiarity with career and HR
Creative problem solving, and familiarity with computational linguistics and natural language processing is a huge plus.
Having worked in a startup or in small team is a plus
Must be goal driven
Work with remote team if needed
Work with an interdisciplinary team of linguists and non-computer scientist
Good reading and writing skills is a plus
Strong preference to library science
Bachelors or masters preferred
This is an contract position with potential for future employment.
