We are taking the old seatgeek.com/blog and turning it into a brand-spankin' new entertainment website. Focused on music, sports, comedy and theater, the website will serve as a one-stop shop for all live events, with a focus on the NYC metropolitan area. Because this is new endeavor, there will be plenty of opportunity to pitch cool ideas and become a real asset to the freelance team.
Need a reliable, experienced writer who is able to produce intelligent and engaging concert reviews twice a month, between 1,000 - 1,500 words.
Reviews should be written from a critical and educated eye, which means prior knowledge of the band is a must (whether you are a previous fan or must do research before the show). Review should offer opinions of the show, but stay away from editorializing.
Try to snag a setlist if you are the type of concert goer who likes to be in the front, or find it online to include in the article.
Assignments will be drafted in Wordpress and must be turned in no later than 36 hours after the show unless otherwise noted. (You will essentially have a day and a half to write the review.)
Along with the article, you will also be required to take two photos at the show and post them to our website's Instagram. (Using a cell phone camera is fine.)
TO APPLY: Email firstname.lastname@example.org, subject line: concert review writer, with 1.) A resume, 2.) 1-2 paragraphs telling us a little bit about yourself and your background, 3.) Three writing clips from music reviews you have written. Clips can be sent in URL or PDF form and do not need to be published work.

Compensation will be $10 per 100 words, and the article should be ~1,000 words unless otherwise noted. Concert ticket will also be comped.
