Content + Community Manager – Social Media Content + Community Wizards Enquire Within!

Overview
Experience Project, San Francisco, CA, is looking for a creative and proactive Content and Community Manager to help take our business to the next level. If you’re looking for a high-impact position from start to finish, this is the place for you. Applicant should have a comprehensive knowledge of what’s hot / trends across media resources. Must be creative, self-motivated and able to repurpose existing content into exciting, lucrative and untapped promotions for consumption across the online space.

The primary responsibility of the Content and Community Manager will be to directly manage “EP Gurus” [User-Generated Writing Program] and freelance writers and work with them to provide the highest possible content for distribution, consumption, contribution, retention and, ultimately, creation. Additionally, we will look to this person to help define and implement Experience Project’s editorial strategy for content now and in the future.

Responsibilities
Content Responsibilities:
Cleverly packaging personalization content for distribution across online, print and broadcast media channels
Prospecting new content opportunities in all areas of media
Coordinating with heads of marketing and sales on upcoming releases, features and creative packages and promotions for partners and related opportunities
Utilizing social media tools to promote content and brand awareness / exposure
Keeping a daily pulse on content developments and trends and strategize and research story ideas and features
Proofreading, copyediting and maximizing content for SEO
Oversee/schedule Web content for our content
Create high-quality, innovative content
Create global content for international online publications
Review and line edit content for quality, style and overall user experience; accurately implement changes
Work with “EP Gurus” to hone editorial skills, expand editorial scope of sites, improve user experience, and increase audience metrics (frequency, duration, etc.); track metrics that demonstrate improvements/opportunities; work to facilitate a productive relationship between “EP Gurus” and Contributing Writers
Work on occasional special projects designed to improve the user experience on the channel at large, particularly as it relates to navigation of topics
Community Responsibilities:
Drive to completion, from investigation to delivery, initiatives that boost community engagement, user networking, and other technologies to increase community participation and content generation.
Develop and post interactive content that encourages participation and the development of member-generated content to ensure that the community is achieving its objectives.
Assist in the development of the content-focused community platform and ensuring that it meets the objectives of the Experience Project strategic roadmap.
Experience
Experience with online communities and content at varied levels.
Skills
Ability to work and confidently make editorial judgments independently; ability to adapt, multitask in a fast-paced environment and familiarize yourself with new topics, policies and tools quickly
Strong facility with a wide-range of topics, ranging from those of a wellness to food and drink to current events; ability to communicate these topics in detail to the lay individual
Experience with SEO and site navigation
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with freelancers and editors while troubleshooting editorial issues
Excellent written and oral communication skills (via email, phone, other methods)
Overwhelming passion for today’s social networking and collaboration technologies.
Experience building online interaction among users around novel and complex technologies.
Experience with, and passion for, creating and consuming new content types: websites, blogs, podcasts, wikis, etc.
Coordinate the efforts of evangelists, forum moderators, & advocates so that affected Company projects are executed efficiently & in a timely manner.
Provide leadership to motivate & maximize the impact of online community’s efforts
Encourage WOM: teach them how to start the conversation & sustain it.
Experience in creating content for the community.
Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work cross-functionally and in teams.
Proven history of developing new, sustainable processes.
A self-starter with the willingness, and desire, to “roll up your sleeves” and get the job done.
Preference for working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
