Overview
QLabs is a tech incubator based in Noho, NY. We’re a small group of hackers who rapidly prototype new technologies every 10 weeks and then test them in the market for long-term potential. Our primary focus is the consumer web and industries ripe for disruption, though we’ve also experimented across a broad spectrum. Our most recent products include Framey, an easy-to-use video recorder, Huntsy, a job organization tool, and When, a private network for families, and are proving an exciting new model for incubating startups. As we grow the QLabs team, we’re actively expanding our marketing capabilities. We believe that marketing is an essential component of any new tech product, and that the most beautiful apps effortlessly integrate marketing with technology and design from the very beginning. So we’ve created a marketing process that respects its fundamental principles while applying them to the time and resource-constrained realities of the startup world. We’re laser-focused on results, so user growth is a primary driving force of our marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities
Your role is to tell the story for each QLabs product, beginning with Huntsy and subsequently for others as they launch.
Every three months, you’ll build a new community from the ground up via thoughtful blog posts, social media interactions and participation in industry events.
You’ll work alongside our Director of Marketing to define a content plan and social media strategy, and will execute various programs in stages to test their effectiveness and adapt accordingly.
You’ll also manage feedback from our communities to continuously improve our products and uncover new opportunities.
While this will comprise a large portion of your responsibilities, you may also wear different hats to support our team as necessary.
Experience
Experience managing online communities and social media programs
Very strong writing and communication skills, preferably with in blogging and editorial
Knowledgeable about various social media platforms like Twitter, FB, Tumblr and Pinterest
Loves to explore the web, curate content and stay on top of trends
Self-starter with a natural inclination to GSD
Wants to be part of something big
Skills
You’re someone with strong writing, community-building and social media skills who can engage users across a variety of online platforms.
You like love to roll up your sleeves and GSD, not only suggesting new ideas but also executing them.
And you’re not afraid to move quickly and change directions on the fly, because that’s what startups are all about.
Education
College graduate majoring in communications, journalism, online media or related field.
