The Contract Representative in our Provider Enrollment department will manage open and existing contracts. They will be tasked with updating the Reimbursement Spreadsheet with participating status, rates and information pertaining to the process of claim payments, as well as solving contracted payments issues.
Responsibilities
Assist in pursuing new contracts for physician groups with insurance carriers
Communicate proposals for new contracts to management
Communicate contract status to Billing Operations and Client Services as needed
Meet weekly with management on status of negotiations for open and existing contracts
Obtain current contracted rates from clients and other sources
Identify existing contracts that are up for renegotiation
Maintain and update the Reimbursement Spreadsheet with participating status, rates and information pertaining to the process of claim payments
Update participating provider lists
Research and resolve contracted payment issues as needed
Obtain information requested by management
Experience
Prior third party billing experience required, prior contracting experience preferred.
Skills
Prior word processing, spreadsheet and internet software experience including proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word required.
Ability to comprehend and communicate contract information
Ability to create tables or charts to display contract fees and proposals
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization
Ability to resolve payment issues with insurance carriers
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
