Responsibilities
Job Location: EDWARDSPORT, IN
Position is located at a construction site. Administers large moderately complex and complex contracts. Maintains a continuing review of the progress of each contract and provides management with information regarding any financial, legal or technical difficulties. Prepares change order and amendment requests; negotiates with contractors to obtain settlement. Broad knowledge and experience in contract administration required. Conducts contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and contract specifications. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information. Identifies and mitigates risk issues. Advises technical staff on contractual issues. Provides administration of amendments/change orders. 5+ years experience with Bachelors minimum. Please note that this position is not involved with bidding and awarding contracts; that is a separate function handled by a different group. The Contract Administrator becomes involved after the contracts have been awarded. Must have the ability to effectively multi-task and work with management, contractors, site personnel and others toward the achievement of the project goals. Must possess proven negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills. Must be diligent and capable of working well independently. Must be an experienced Microsoft Office user with advanced Word and Excel experience. Overtime may be required. Some Travel may be required as needed. Must meet the requirements for a MICCS card.
