By making data actionable in real time, our Insight products and services help teachers and administrators assess student progress, adapt to student needs and accelerate student learning.

The Data Analyst will support the Director of Data Analysis within the Research & Analytics department in providing custom analysis, reporting, and analytical support to satisfy customer needs. Additionally, the Data Analyst will assist in the development of evidence (“data stories”) that supports the efficacy of our assessment and intervention products.

Responsibilities
Become an expert in the structure and characteristics of our database architecture
Connect, probe, and mine databases to construct datasets that facilitate data analysis to address specified hypotheses
Assemble customer-facing data files to satisfy custom reporting requests from clients
Produce periodic high-quality analyses for each assessment product
Troubleshoot operational issues and problems; create and conduct quality control checks on data; automation of routine tasks
Create and update documentation supporting data management; produce and maintain operational and technical documentation; generate reports as required
Propose, design, and report on research projects as needed; support internal and external research efforts; report and visualize results creatively in a variety of formats; apply basic statistical concepts and techniques to data analysis projects
Train other staff in data analysis as appropriate; present results and recommendations to decision makers at various levels
Experience
2+ years experience
1+ years’ experience with desktop programming (e.g., VBA)
1+ years’ experience in quantitative methodology in a data-rich field;
Skills
Proficient programming skills (SQL, or possibly python or java);
Proficient Excel skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and dedication to excellence
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and streams of work
Ability to react nimbly to ad hoc requests from clients, re-prioritizing as necessary
Education
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
