kikin Inc is looking for a Data Mining Scientist. Our engineers work on a variety of hard problems (semantic indexing, named entity recognition, federated search, behavioral profiling, on-the-fly 3D presentation, latency reduction, etc.). We work in several programming languages to best solve each problem (Java, JavaScript, C++, Objective-C); and by leveraging several programs and markups (Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, SVG), we design and build elegant user interfaces. Our application spans a user's domain (iOS and mobile applications); reaches our servers and CDNs; and extends to third party APIs (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Amazon).

Responsibilities
The right candidate will:
Participate in all stages of development including design, implementation, and testing of our next-generation Federated Search and Personalization back-end
Integrate Content, Commerce, and Service partners' feeds into our backend
Collaborate with Product Management on algorithms and engaging features
Address evolving user requirements, process flows, performance and scalability
Enjoy problem solving and designing algorithms
Write efficient and maintainable code
Learn more about, disseminate and incorporate leading edge technology
Be a contributing member of a high-performance engineering team
Experience
3+ years leading projects and managing a small team
Experience with Spring, AJAX, DHTML, JavaScript, jQuery and/or CSS
Expertise in XML, MySQL, Apache, Application servers such as Resin, Linux
Experience with Compass, Lucene, SOLR desired
Skills
Knowledge of advanced Java and experience with in performance-oriented Java
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience is required
Prior experience with REST, Caching, Clustering, Distributed Computing, XML
Object Mapping, and Web Services
Data loading experience and overall database experience is a must
Sees the world as semantic relationships and translates them into code
Interest in both the big picture and minute details
Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
