As a member of the Acadia application solutions engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for architecting data warehousing solutions on a Vblock. The data warehouse/BI architect with experience designing and implementing data warehousing applications will support sales and technical specialists associated with Vblock solutions and has a thorough understanding of BI, Data and data integration technology, tools and designs.
Develop, test and document best practices for the integration and validation of Vblocks with various data warehousing platforms such as Oracle, GreenPlum etc.
Build and conduct infrastructure proof-of-concept tests for customers on a Vblock
Provide content for technical white papers and best practice documents.
Interact with database and Vblock platform engineers to evaluate business and technical opportunities for joint development
Work closely with marketing and product management organizations on the development of related field material
Enjoy hands-on system experience: building of systems, infrastructure, operating systems and test environments
Understands the sales process, its information and support requirements, and assists business developers in identifying or qualifying leads
Candidate must have the following:
7+ years and recent experience in designing, deploying and supporting large data warehousing environments.
Strong technical skills with all data warehousing technologies (e.g., ETL, ODS, DBMS, BI)
Good understanding of server virtualization and 5+ years of experience supporting highly virtualized data warehousing platforms running on various databases such as Oracle, Exadata, SQL server
5+ years of deep experience as a Data Warehouse and Data Mart Architect
Experience developing ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage etc.
Hands on experience of database administration of Oracle, SQL or other databases.
Deep understanding of tuning applications for OLTP and OLAP
Programming or scripting experience with Visual Basic, DOS batch, .NET, C, C++ etc.
Understanding of database Logical and Physical modeling
Experience with benchmarking and sizing using industry standard metrics
Knowledge of the I/O subsystem and memory management of Windows or Unix operating system
Database administration experience with one or more databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2 LUW database)
Strong technical presentation preparation and delivery skills
Additional skills and experience with the following are a big plus:
Operational understanding of with at least one EMC storage platform (Symmetrix, Celerra and CLARiiON), storage management and business continuance software
Understanding of server (UCS, HP, DELL etc) and network (Cisco, Juniper) infrastructure
Candidates should possess a BSCS or MSCS and 7+ years of Experience.
