Overview
This is a very exciting opportunity to work in an up and coming fashion startup. The candidate will be a motivated, hard working individual with over three years experience, and will be based in San Francisco. With partners throughout the United States, the candidate will help maintain communication amongst all locations, while helping to continue in developing the initial collection, as well as fruition of the product.
Responsibilities
Executing trend reports, street reports, and visual merchandising reports for team relative to the brand
Sourcing fabric and trims, including mill and trade fair visits
Loosely, manage development style library as well as category research library, fabric swatch, and color libraries
Assist with photo shoots, visual merchandising, and branding/ visual aids
Coordinate communication between departments
Create and design samples
Assist in line presentations and provide all necessary sales tools
Assist in set up of seasonal showroom and tradeshow preparation
Prepare presentations, handle communication between external parties, as well as overseas production with managers
Experience
Experience creating and developing a line
Publicized work a plus
Skills
Possess a strong sense of creativity and provide innovative designs to help drive sales
Strong understanding of branding required; experience with brand development through design big plus
Strong communication skills and ability to follow up with other departments promptly
Must be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Must have experience communicating with far-east production
Prior experience in knits, sweaters and woven shirts a plus
Must be able to work well individually as well as on small teams
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of runway and market trends, and apply them to the brand ethos
Must have excellent time management and skills and be able to manage multiple projects at the same time; must be able to meet strict deadlines on all projects
Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop essential; additional graphic/ Adobe program experience a big plus
Strong sense of urgency and quick grasp of direction
Mac operating system proficiency required
Education
Must be a Senior student in Fashion Design and or possess a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from an accredited college or university
