THE VENTURE
Wanderfly is a startup reinventing online travel. We are a personalized recommendation website that inspires people to discover new places based on their budgets and interests. You will be working in a “whatever it takes” environment and joining an exceptional team that includes top-notch, experienced people in web technology, design and marketing. Wanderfly is venture-backed and supported by a distinguished board of Advisors, including John Gerzema, Kevin Farnham and Khoi Vinh. We are seeking brilliant entrepreneurs who mesh with our startup mentality. We launched publicly in October 2010 are have received an overwhelming response from the press, users and advertisers alike. THE GIG
We are seeking a designer with an insatiable thirst for beautiful pixels and thoughtful design.
Our philosophy is that exceptional design is the foundation for flawless function. So a passion for great design is key, creativity is a must and intellectual curiosity never hurts. After all, we inspire people to adventure to new destinations and we can’t do that without inspired design.
From day one, you will work directly with our creative director and team of user experience designers to continually improve and evolve Wanderfly’s design. We have already developed a great style under the advisory of design industry legends such as Khoi Vinh and Kevin Farnham and we plan to keep it fresh, so get ready to get your hands dirty!
All of us work closely with each other here, so plan to get some exposure to the marketing and business development side of things too--you will definitely get a chance to grow beyond your field of knowledge.
The gig is based in the heart of SoHo where we share an awesome loft filled with some of the most exciting startups in New York. We have French press coffee, plenty of pistachios and beer in the fridge. Oh, and on Fridays we work from home. The gig can be either full-time or part-time, we are flexible.

Experience
2+ years of undergrad design experience
Passion for thoughtful design
Online/interactive design experience is a plus; open to print designers looking to expand
A love for travel is definitely a plus (after all, you should love what you do)
Skills
Eye for pixel-perfect detail
Mastery of Photoshop
Bonus points for Illustrator and Typography skills
