Top Tier proprietary electronic trading firm is seeking an exceptional Desktop Support Technician to join team. The mission is to lead the electronic liquidity market in a superior environment for our employees. Our firm trades all major exchange-listed asset classes across all time zones.
Responsibilities involve supporting all aspects of our desktop environment including hardware, software, A/V, and some Systems/Networks support. This role will include short and long term project work, and continually driving improvements in performance. This position provides an exceptional compensation package recognizing contributions to company’s operating performance.
Set up and maintain user workstations and handle all user initial workstation related issues.
Microsoft Office application configuration and troubleshooting
Printer connectivity and basic peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor)
E-mail and Internet
File storage and sharing
Installation and support of data center hardware
Deployment of pre-configured builds to servers and workstations
Set-up of various types of servers
Install, move and reconfigure phones
Provide back-up support for HVAC and electrical systems
This position requires in depth knowledge of:
1 to 3 years experience providing desktop support
experience purchasing hardware, printers and supplies
experience registering hardware and software with manufacturers and publishers
Windows XP or Windows 7
Hardware swap-outs (video cards, drivers, monitors)
Voice Over Internet Protocol
Network-client server connectivity
Active Directory user and group management
VPN – Virtual Private Network
Wireless access cards
Linux knowledge a plus
Visual Basic Scripting a plus
Desire and ability to develop skills to qualify for higher level administrator positions that support switching, the NetApp and servers
Prior work experience in a Trading or Investment firm is a plus.
