The Dev Ops Intern position provides an opportunity to enter a rapidly growing company, Zest Health, that is reinventing the healthcare experience for its members. Zest Health is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join its Engineering team for 8-10 weeks this summer to focus on infrastructure stability, performance and security. The position will provide valuable experience working closely with the Zest engineering and product team and provide exposure to management of web applications, APIs, databases, virtualized services, 3rd party services, security best practices and more.
Responsibilities will include:
System and task automation through custom scriptwriting
Ensuring successful data migrations, imports and integrity verification
Monitoring and visualizing of application and event logs (both 1st party and 3rd party services)
System performance tuning and benchmarking
Supporting code deployments across environments together with other Zest team members
Optimizing performance of telephony & voice automation services
Developing and maintaining Puppet configurations
Instantiating new environments
Providing Zest team members with IT support
Supporting other members of the Zest Team as needed
Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging start-up environment
Self-motivated and thrives on learning and experimenting with new technologies
Strong communication skills and eagerness to share best practices with others
Passion for new technology, healthcare and entrepreneurship
Previous exposure to databases (preferably SQL Server, Postgres, Redis/Mongo)
Previous exposure to cloud host providers (preferably Microsoft Azure)
Previous exposure to system configuration software (preferably Puppet)
Previous exposure to source control systems (preferably Git)
Candidates should be class of 2014-2016 majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems or have a comparable focus
