Overview

Newsmotion seeks to develop a long-term relationship with a developer who is comfortable converting an idea into functional product - either by developing from scratch or, more likely, taking existing code and hacking it for our purposes. The developer we seek must be adept at (but not limited to) web dev technologies such as Javascript, Database, HTML, CSS, Drupal. We’re also looking at someone who has strong experiencing in a rapid deployment web language like RoR, Django, Kohana, or Express. You will be working with an MIT trained hacker who’s priority is rapid development and deployment. Your code does not need to be gorgeous, just functional. Hackers, hackers-in-training, and other software kung-fu folks welcome ;-)

Subsequent to the initial intense period of our website’s build out, the ideal candidate will be able to provide daily or weekly basis maintain the site, ensure robust operation and continuity with clients.

Newsmotion is an innovative platform for civic media, public art, and original documentary reportage. We are harnessing the power of independent voices, technology, and collaborative storytelling to help the critical issues of our time engage new audiences and find new solutions.
