Overview
The Sumeria Group is looking for a Developer Intern that will work with the Director of Technology. This internship is an excellent, high-exposure opportunity for undergraduates to work directly with the Sumeria Executive Team. This intern will assist in the development/maintenance of the Sumeria website and web application. Sumeria’s web application is a browser-based networking platform centered on organizing and coordinating events.
Responsibilities
The website joins some of the greatest tools available (Heroku, MailChimp, Stripe, Bootstrap, etc.) so interns will be able to work with cutting-edge technologies and tools. Interns are expected to, among other things:
MUST have firm knowledge of Ruby on Rails/basic development skills or be willing to learn it quickly
Have web development experience (HTTP, HTML, CSS, AJAX, Java)
Work on back-end and database structuring, understand front-end
Assist the Director of Technology in regular/ad-hoc web construction
Experience
Requirements:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a MUST. Interns should be comfortable speaking on the phone, communicating quickly and professionally via email, and conducting themselves in a social setting.
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
Skills

Compensation
-A stipend covering meal and transportation costs will be provided, if course credit cannot be obtained.
-Each intern will be paired with Sumeria network members in the industry (or industries) of their choice.
-Any costs or admission associated with any events, meetings, or social gatherings will be paid for.
