As the Director of Global Payments, you will have responsibility for establishing and managing all of Elance’s payment strategy, operations and relationships worldwide including; entry into new geographic markets, new payment methods, cost structure optimization, revenue optimization, payment operations, fraud management, vendor relationships and compliance with relevant payment regulations.
The ideal candidate for this position will have significant experience running different facets of payment management especially in operations and vendor management.

Manage, analyze and optimize total payment costs, particularly interchange
Maintain ongoing relationships with payment processors / financial institutions
Ensure compliance of all payment and escrow regulations
Ensure the business is supported with the right payment methods by establishing payment-processing relationships with vendors in new markets and for new products
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure all payment solutions are smoothly rolled out in a compliant and efficient manner
Manage monetization opportunities in the payment process
Manage the payment and fraud operations team within SLA and budget
Establish and manage a Collections organization
Broad and strong relationships across the payments community
A solid understanding of industry & country specific payment schemes; as well as privacy and security regulations as they apply to payment acceptance
7+ years of experience in payments at a large scale (small value, high volume) in operations, product management and/or vendor management
Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
Proven track record in negotiating contracts
Experience with alternative payments methods a plus
Experienced in developing and maintaining third party relationships with card brands, payment processors and technology providers
BA/BS degree required, preferably in business, marketing or finance. MBA preferred
