Director, Operations - Sales

Overview
The Director, Operations is a Brooklyn based position responsible for managing a team of internal employees, responsible for pipeline management, lead entry/qualification, sales training and renewals management. The position will also be responsible for running the day to day operations of the sales organization.

This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales of Marketing. The SVP of Sales will be responsible for training for this new position to ensure an efficient on-board within the organization.



Responsibilities of Director, Operations:

Strategic Planning

Develop, execute and maintain a sales staffing and territory plan that ensures product sales targets are achieved
Develop, execute and maintain a renewal operations plan that ensures renewal sales targets are achieved
Develop, execute and maintain an overall sales operations plan that ensures lead generation, inside sales, outside sales, marketing and our CRM systems are aligned and efficient for all key stakeholders
Operations

Ensure that Sales department operations function smoothly, with the goal of implementing strong communication processes for ensuring all department staff is as current as possible with their internal knowledge of marketing, product, and service plans
Accurate pipeline management and quarterly sales forecasting
Develop sales projections by product area for existing products and projections for new products to be released to the market
Internally manage and resolve customer contract issues
Manage expense budget
Develop and implement a dashboard of KPIs for the sales department
Lead Qualification
Sales Team Training

Work with the Sales Training and Development Manager to design, develop and facilitate training programs that enhance the level of expertise of sales staff and sales management team within the organization
Continuously evaluate effectiveness of training solutions and improve/adjust as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications of Director, Operations:

BA/BS degree
7+ years’ operations management experience supporting sales
2+ years' experience in selling Enterprise Software Solutions
Proven experience with Sales Forecasting
Proven leadership experience in a solution-based sales environment
Proven high-level influencing skills


Preferred Qualifications of Director, Operations:

Master’s degree preferred
Successful educational sales experience strongly preferred
Highly motivated, as well as the proven ability to create and develop a highly-motivated, success oriented sales team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Travel will be as needed, however this position is primarily a non-travel role
