Position Description
VC Backed Company is seeking a talented, experienced and exceptional Director of Business Development to manage and execute the development and accomplishment of content-related partnerships, business plans, and objectives. The ideal candidate will play a visible role in the development, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives, including organic business initiatives. This includes generating new business and qualifying potential leads, pitches, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client management. The ideal candidate should have 3-7 years of business development experience in the consumer internet and/or major media space with concentration in negotiating large content deals.
Responsibilities
Executing deals/partnerships with Fortune 500 brands and services.
Research and evaluate new content partners, market trends and opportunities
Prepare presentations, financial projections, and competitive analysis
Manage client and internal communications
Prepares comprehensive proposals, estimates and produces plans to meet client requirements
Continuously analyzes trends and marketing strategies that are being implemented by companies inside and outside the interactive industry
Hire and resource a small content management team Responsibilities
Experience
The right candidate will be a highly-motivated self-starter with:
7+ years experience in Business Development / Sales, including experience negotiating successful business partnerships.
3+ years of relevant work experience in Content Acquisition
Experience negotiating extensive contacts, especially within major entertainment and online companies/properties.
Skills
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation design skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive knowledge of online business models and internet/consumer technology
Comfortable with both “big picture” strategy and hands-on cold-calling into various types of local businesses
Unusually high degree of persistence and sales prowess
Demonstrates a high level diligence and accountability
Has the ability to leverage social and professional networks to discover new opportunities
Able to research and target businesses in cities nationwide
