Seeking a Director of Business Development, New Products, to source, manage and maximize real estate products and opportunities to market to the Company’s prospects
The Director of Business Development is charged with sourcing new real estate products to offer to our clients. Unlike traditional real estate which is listed on the MLS and offered on our website, or advertisements that appear on our site, the Director of Business Development creates ‘structured products’ or ‘off market listings, or other real estate opportunities. This represents the potentially most profitable, and the most creative part of our business model.
Examples of the types of opportunities to seek out include:
Structured Products. ‘Packaged’ real estate products which come with other contracts, service agreements or arrangements beyond just the purchase of the real estate. These may include:
Real estate funds.
Off-market Listings. Real estate opportunities not currently available on the MLS that may be highly desirable to our customer base due to the ‘insider access’, extra discounts, volume discounts, or other such opportunities.
Other Real Estate-related Opportunities . These include joint venture opportunities with other service providers/strategic partners, such as builder/developers, lenders, competitors, coaching & seminar companies, law firms, landowners, and other real estate related promoters (but not real estate brokerages which is handled by the V.P. of Broker-Partnerships).
Note: these joint venture opportunities are separate from the ‘lead sales’ and advertising sales that the V.P. of Advertising manages. Whereas, the V.P. of Advertising may generate some incremental revenue by giving access to our database or website to vendors, the Direct of Business Development may create alliances with vendors for a cut of the vendor’s profits.
Experience in real estate dealmaking.
Strong self-starter and initiative.
Good understanding of the real estate investor psychology.
Strong creative and analytical abilities.
MBA or law degree preferred.
Respond promptly to all ‘partnership’ lead inquiries from website.
Proactively prospect and negotiate for new products opportunities among developers/builders, owners, other promoters, etc.
Work with Marketing Manager through the President/COO to distribute new product offerings through the company’s distribution channels.
Prospect, negotiate and manage relationships with Prospect, recruit, negotiate and manage relationships with lead buyers or third party lead brokers.
200-300k expected on a performance basis.
