Director of Marketing

Overview
GENWI is a Cloud Based Publishing Platform for Mobile transforming online media and promotions into live, social, and engaging Tablet and Smartphone applications. We are a Bay Area tech startup changing the way companies execute their mobile strategy. Our product has been written up in publications such as TechCrunch, Mashable, and Laptop Magazine. We’re funded by highly reputed investment firms, angel investors and entrepreneurs.

GENWI is looking for a rockstar Director of Marketing who can design and lead the marketing effort to help evangelize GENWI’s cloud based publishing suite for Tablets and Smartphones. You must have experience in and a strong understanding of the media publishing space and be passionate about mobile technology. You should have a quantitative and analytical mindset, and a strong track record of building and executing marketing plans and generating qualified leads with a high ROI. You must be driven, a creative problem solver, willing to pitch in where needed and comfortable working independently. We offer competitive salaries and benefits. Responsibilities
Developing a deeper understanding of the market requirements for cloud publishing for mobile
Building a strong brand and identity for GENWI- inclusive of the site and all forms of marketing collateral
Evangelizing the need for cloud publishing through targeted communication to large media and retail enterprises and long tail content publishers
Designing and executing lead generation programs using online, direct marketing, social media, and traditional PR channels
Defining and developing quantitative metrics to measure and optimize all marketing initiatives
Developing a strong community around the GENWI brand and vision
Experience
Extensive marketing experience in SaaS products for content publishing
Experience and comfort in operating in a fast-paced start-up environment in a dynamic and rapidly-evolving industry
Proven ability to run SEO, SEM, direct marketing, social media, and other online marketing campaigns
Experience in building a community of developers and building a channel program is a plus
Skills
Ability to imagine a brave new world of possibilities with tactile based devices (Smartphone and Tablets) as opposed to click ‘n browse world and how it impacts the mobile publishing and marketing industry
Excellent management skills and demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
A quantitative mindset, strong written and oral communication skills
Passion, and an extremely strong work ethic
Education
BA or BS degree required. MBA or experience in engineering management preferred.
